Wilhelmina Josephine “Sug” Buras Katicich was born February 19, 1927 and passed away on October 11, 2011. Beloved wife of Jerry Norman Katicich. Mother of JoAnn S. Stross (Bill), Darby S. Russo (Lawrence), Melanie S. White (Jack), Michael Katicich (Mary), Jim Katicich and Johnny Katicich (Ella). Sister of Mary Rita Burney. Daughter of the late Virginia Ragas Buras and William A. Buras. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is a native of Triumph, LA and resided in Gretna, LA. Sug was the beloved daughter of Mamie and Pappy and baby sister of Rita. Together they grew up in Buras amidst a large extended family. She gave birth to 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. She held many jobs but was proudest of her work with elementary school children. In her lifetime, she was loved by all who grew to know her. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Relatives, friends, staff and retirees of Jefferson Parish School Board and Shirley Johnson-Gretna Park Elementary are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 10 AM to 11 AM.
