Willard J. Rogers

Willard J. Rogers passed away on December 12, 2015 at the age of 93 years. He was a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA. Beloved husband of the late Lucy Simoneaux Rogers. Father of Bruce J. Rogers (Faye), Wilma R. Desselle and Trudy R. Stephens (Joe). Grandfather of Steven (Lisa), David (Rochell), Michael, Kim and the late Thomas. Great-grandfather of Thomas and Kass. Brother of the late Velma R. Nall and Donald Rogers. Son of the late Bruce S. Rogers and Alvish Boudreaux Rogers. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Willard served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He later retired as an inspector with Avondale Shipyard. Willard was a member of the American Legion Post 206, V.F.W.-Westwego, AmVets Westwego, 40 & 8 Voiture 201, Westwego Volunteer Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3091. He will be sadly missed.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home and the staff of Unit 3 for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home Activities Fund,
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Westwego.
