William "Billy" Austin, Sr.

William “Billy” Austin Sr. passed away on June 29, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of 49 years to Linda Lyons Austin. Father of Lorraine “Lori” Ledet (Jody), William Austin II (Gina) and Stephen Austin. Grandfather of Meghan, Stephanie, Marissa, Jaysa, Stevie and Olivia. Great-grandfather of Riley and Alice. Son of the late Sterling Austin and Zell Reed Austin. Also survived by his beloved canine companion, Lucky, along with other loving relatives and friends.
Billy was born in Alice, TX and resided in Gretna, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked for many years in oil field related industry as a general contractor and most recently, as an air conditioner technician. He loved watching Western shows and movies, was an avid coin collector and loved animals. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
