William Joseph Haas, III entered into eternal rest to be with Jesus on Monday, October 7, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband and best friend of Carolyn Bertucci Haas. Devoted and loving father of Dawn Este (husband, Rory) and William J. Haas, IV (wife, Tracy). Son of Mildred Rebstock Haas and the late William J. Haas, Jr. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Zachary Haas, Kayla Este, Hannah Este, Christopher Jones and Kade Jones. Age 65 years. He is the loving brother of Deborah Grabert (husband, the late Irvin), Mary Sherlin (husband, Tom) and Brian Haas (wife, Faye). William has touched the lives of many people he has met. He will be remembered by his faith, love, support and dedication. William was in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was also a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medallion and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Building Committee.
Relatives, friends, Parish family of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #9384, Met Life Insurance Company, Jefferson Parish Fire Department, Marrero-Ragusa Fire Company, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gretna Police Department, Jefferson Parish Department of Engineering, Winn Dixie and Waggaman Golden Age Club are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 8 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow with Celebrant, Rev. Otis Young. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA. The Haas family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to his St. Joseph the Worker family and friends who provided William with their love, care and support during this time of his life. A special “thank you” to all of his doctors, staff members and to Heart of Hospice for the excellent care and love that was given to him.
