William Charles Hinkel Jr. , a devout catholic entered into eternal life on Monday, May 30, 2016. William was the loving husband and of Gwendolyn Himel Hinkel for 41 years and attends St. Cletus Catholic Church.
Son of the late William Charles Hinkel Sr. and Lucille Paternostro Hinkel.
Survived by spouse Gwendolyn and two sons Michael Paul and Jason Mark. Brother to Gerald Hinkel (Diane) and Sheila Hinkel Montgomery. Brother in Law to Barry Himel, Diane Himel Wilson (Frank), Kathy Himel Wakefeild, Wayne Himel, and Wanda Himel Newman.
Godfather to Brian Hinkel, Charlene Byrne Moulliet (Gary) Patrick Montgomery and Uncle to Christine Walter, Rodney Hinkel, Brian Hinkel, Suzanne Hinkel, Lora Himel Cullum (Bobby), Barry Himel Jr. (Jeny), Ashlee Gros Rogis, Jonathan Wakefield.
He was a graduate of De La Salle High School (‘58) and Louisiana State University Agricultural and Mechanical (’63) and current LSU Alumni Association Member. Served 6 years in Louisiana Army National Guard 2226th Engineering Company, retired from Gulf States Airgas (Mon Arc Welding Supply), former member of the 76ers social club, Gretna Sportsman’s Club, Krewe of Grela, Krewe of Choctaw, and current member Italian American Society of Jefferson.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to benefit Louisiana State University Tiger Athletic Fund at any Capital One Branch, William Charles Hinkel Jr. Memorial Fund.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy. Harvey, LA on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11 AM.
