WILLIAM RANDOLPH KING passed away peacefully on December 21, 2014, leaving his family and friends with a great sense of sadness over the loss of his young productive life. Born April 15, 1989, William was the much beloved son of the late Michael Randolph “Randy“ King and Ellen Drury King and the younger brother of Kelly Jude King. William attended grammar school at St. Cletus School in Gretna, Louisiana and went on to graduate from St. Stanislaus High School in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi where he was the recipient of the Character Cup and a member of the Sailing Team. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, but soon felt that his true calling was to work on the sea, which had been such a large part of his life with his father. He began working on crew boats in the Gulf of Mexico and rapidly worked his way up the ranks to obtain his Merchant Mariner Credentials as a Master Captain at the young age of 21, making him one of the youngest Captains in the Gulf of Mexico fleet. William worked for REC Marine, Cheramie Marine and at his death he was in the employ of Candy Fleet LLC and was the Captain of the M/V Candy Machine along with Co-Captain and his valued and dear friend Aaron R. Hawkins
He is also survived by his wife Misty Auld King, in-laws, Connie and David Auld and sisters-in-law, Chani and Kristy Auld all of Irvington, Alabama. William is survived by his paternal relatives,“Nannie” Marcia King Reck, uncle Gothard J. Reck, and cousin Gothard King Reck who loved him dearly like a son and a brother. His surviving relatives on his maternal side are uncle Hank Drury, aunts Pam Drury Blaize and Bonnie Drury and his cousin Allison Blaize.
He was the beloved grandson of Bill H. King and the late Frances Chimento King and the late Henry and Elvalee Drury.
Special thanks from the family go out to his life long friends Andres Molinary and Josh Martin with whom William shared so many happy times. William enjoyed fishing, sailing, hunting and all things in God’s Nature. William loved his dogs Pistol and Diesel and spent as much time with them as he could.
William lost his beloved father Randy at the young age of ten and longed for him everyday. The family finds solace that they are now reunited with God and once again happy as father and son. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM.
