William was born in Bogalusa, LA on December 10, 1935, son of William Herman Walker, Sr. and Agnes Pauline Taylor. His father was of Welsh ancestry and his mother Native American. He was raised in Varnado and maintained lifelong friendships with several of the guys he associated with, known as the "Terrace Boys". Louisiana State University alumni, graduated with a diploma in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for Shell Oil Company for 38 years. Was a member of the Louisiana National Guard. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Doris Jean Kimball Walker. Father of Hermine Denise Tomarchio of Indian Falls Beach, Florida; Randall Keith Walker of Baton Rouge, LA; Coni Sue Alford Disher of Hammond, LA; Cheryl Wallace of Marrero, LA; Joshua David Walker of Gretna, LA. Survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his later years, William worked for Academy Sports and Outdoors (over 8 years), where he was affectionately known as "Mr. Will". He was an active member of the local Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses (Terrytown, Aurora, Gretna) for over 45 years.
