William J. “Billy” Mahler, Jr., passed away on November 24, 2013 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Evelyn Burmaster Mahler. Father of Tammy Mahler and Brenda Mahler Guernsey. Grandfather of Scotty and Brandon Guernsey. Brother of Beverly Boggs (Marion), Carrielou Rupe (the late William), Marjorie Kraus (the late Andrew) and Robert Mahler (Guada). Brother-in-law of E. J. Burmaster (Claire) and the late Edward Burmaster, III (Janice). Son of the late William J. Mahler, Sr. and Mildred Menge Mahler. Son-in-law of the late Edward and Evelyn Hinyub Burmaster. Grandson of the late Jacob and Dorethea Delger Mahler, Florance and Carrie Buras Menge and Lucy Bieber Menge.
Billy served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later retired as a Pressman from the Times-Picayune.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Funeral Services will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church, 620 Eliza Street in Algiers for 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
