Woodrow “Pete” Henry Bourgeois entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Lorena Marie Plaisance Bourgeois. Son of the late Joseph Bourgeois, Jr. and Elodie Pierce Bourgeois. Father and Grandfather of Henry Bourgeois (Wife Beverly) and children, Kelly and Steven; David Bourgeois, Sr. (Wife Emelda “Flossie”) and children, Kathy and the late David Jr; Rosalie Robichaux (Husband Stanley) and children, Shane and Scott; Joseph Bourgeois (Wife Betty) and children, Joseph “Jay” Jr., Juliana, Valerie, Michael, Adam, Annette and Thomas; Girard Bourgeois (Wife Beth) and children Nathan and Hannah; Timothy Bourgeois (Wife Susan) and children Matthew and Eric. Survived by 17 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Brother of the late Louis Bourgeois, Carnelia Bourgeois, Ivy Bourgeois, Edward “Wood” Bourgeois, Jessie “B.B.” Bourgeois, Nita Bourgeois Thomassie, Jeffrey “Slim” Bourgeois, Eula Bourgeois, Ernest Bourgeois and Gladys Bourgeois Drews. Woodrow was a veteran of WWII while serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Westwego AMVETS. He retired from Edward Transport Co. Woodrow was a Tugboat Captain for 33 years. He was born in Cut Off, LA and was a resident of Westwego, LA for 60 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 9AM until 11:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Avenue A and 4th Streets, Westwego, LA on Tuesday at 12 Noon.
