Yvonne Mary Bru Ballard

Yvonne Bru Ballard entered into eternal rest at Our Lady of Wisdom Health Center on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Morgan G. Ballard. Mother of Gloria Cantrell (Edwin), Judith Triche (Earl) and Morgan G. Ballard, Jr. Grandmother of Lori, Edwin Jr., Jolie, Annie, Joseph, Christopher and Jennifer. Great Grandmother of Katie, Jennie, Missy, Jason, Ryatt, Alexander, Ethan, Christopher, Caden, Tye Jr. and Maison. Great Great Grandmother of Brookelynn, Landon and Roman. Daughter of the late Annie and Roy Bru. Sister of the late Mary Elizabeth, Madeline, Roy Jr. and Barbara. Yvonne was a resident of Meraux, LA until Hurricane Katrina. She enjoyed music, dancing and traveling. She was a volunteer at Humana Hospital in New Orleans. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Staff of Our Lady of Wisdom for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center in memory of Yvonne. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center, 5600 General DeGaulle Drive, New Orleans, LA on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Chalmette, LA.
