Zilah Deslandes Goncalves Couto, a native of Caratinga, MG, Brazil and a resident of New Orleans, LA, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Benjamin G. Couto Filho for 52 years. Loving mother of Annie Grace Couto and Benjamin Couto. Grandmother of Emmanuelle and Isabella Rollo, Benjamin Couto IV, and Marie Couto. Sister of Francisco and Paulo Deslandes, the late Ruth Matos, Samuel and Ruy Deslandes. Sister-in-law of Prof. Nilma Caldeira, the late Prof. Inah Couto de Menezes, Dr. Alair Couto, Gen. Alaor Couto, and Dr. Walter Couto. Daughter of the late Maria Matos Deslandes and Prof. Emmanuel Deslandes.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, November 17, 2014 from NOON until 2 PM. The Memorial Mass will follow at 2 PM.
